Fall Songs
It Must Be Fall (to the tune of "When The Saints")
Oh, when the leaves, fall off the trees.
Oh when the leaves fall off the trees.
We know that it must be Autumn,
When the leaves fall off the trees.
Oh, when the days, start to get cool.
Oh when the days start to get cool.
We know that it must be Autumn,
when the days start to get cool.
Oh, when the pumpkins, get orange and round.
Oh when the pumpkins get orange and round.
We know that is must be Autumn,
when the pumpkins get orange and round.
Acorn Song (to the tune of BINGO)
There is a nut that squirrels like to eat and ACORN is its namo-o
A-C-O-R-N
Repeat as the song goes and as you turn over the letters say CRUNCH in there place = Crunch-C-O-R-N
Scarecrow Song
When all the cows were sleeping and the sun was behind a cloud.
Up jumped a scarecrow and shouted very LOUD!
"I'm a Jingle Jangle scarecrow with a flippy floppy hat.
I can shake my arms like this!
And shake my arms like that!
The Acorn Seed Song
I'm an acorn, small and round. (Kids make a little "o" with hands)
Lying on the cold, cold ground. (Fold hands and put beside head as if sleeping)
People pass and step on me. (stomp foot)
That is why I'm cracked you see. (shrug)
I'm a nut. (clap, clap)
I'm a nut. (clap, clap)
I'm an acorn nut.
All The Leaves Are Falling Down (to the tune of "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star")
All the leaves are falling down,
Orange, yellow, red, and brown.
Falling softly as they do,
Over me and over you.
All the leaves are falling down,
Orange, yellow, red, and brown.
Frisky Little Squirrel (to the tune of "The Grand Old Duke of York")
Oh, the frisky little squirrel
He gathers nuts and seeds.
He hides them for the winter months
So he'll have all he needs.
Oh, up up up he goes
And down down down he comes.
He runs around - goes up and down.
His work is never done.
The Squirrel
These are brown leaves, fluttering down,
And this is the tall tree bare and brown;
This is the squirrel with eyes so bright
Hunting for nuts, with all of her might.
This is the hole where, day by day,
Nut after nut she stores away.
When winter comes, with its cold and storm
She'll rest curled up,
All snug and warm.
Out My Window
I looked out my window and what did I find?
Green leaves a-growing on my pumpkin vine.
Green leaves a-growing on my pumpkin vine.
Green leaves, green leaves a growing
Green leaves, green leaves a growing
Green leaves a growing on my pumpkin vine.
...yellow flowers growing.
...black bugs crawling.
...pumpkins growing.
The Pumpkin Song
Pumpkin, pumpkin on the ground (crouch down)
How'd you get so big and round? (make a circle with arms)
Once you were a seed so small, (pretend to hold a seed)
Now you are a great big ball! (make a circle with hands)
Pumpkin, pumpkin on the ground (crouch down)
How'd you get so big and round? (make a circle with arms)
Fall is Here (to the tune of "Oh, Christmas Tree")
Oh, fall is here.
Oh, fall is here,
And wintertime is coming.
The squirrels get ready. Yes, they do.
They gather nuts to get them through.
The wintertime, cold wintertime,
Itβs fall and winter is coming.
...the ducks get ready. Yes, they do.
They migrate south to get them through.
...the bears get ready. Yes, they do.
They look for dens to get them through.
Autumn Leaves (to the tune of "London Bridges")
Autumn leaves are falling down
Falling down, falling down
Autumn leaves are falling down
Red, yellow, orange and brown
Scarecrow Song (to the tune of "I'm a Little Teapot")
I'm a little scarecrow stuffed with hay.
Here I stand in a field all day.
When I see the crows,
I like to shout -
"Hey! You crows, you better get out!β
The Apple Song
Here is the apple tree with leaves so green, (arms like a tree)
Here are the apples that hang in between, (make a small circle)
When the wind blows, (sway body and arms back and forth)
The apples will fall, (crouch down on the floor)
Let's use a basket to gather them all! (pick up apples and put them into a basket)
Leaf Pile
When the leaves are on the ground,
Instead of on the trees
I like to make a pile of them,
Way up to my knees.
I like to run and jump in them,
And kick them all around -
I like the prickly feel of them
And the crinkly, crackly sound.
Ring Around the Pumpkin
Have the children make a circle around a large pumpkin. While holding hands start singing:
Ring around the pumpkin
Orange, big and round.
Pumpkin seeds, Pumpkin seeds inside.
And we all fall down!
Five Little Pumpkins
Five little pumpkins sitting on a gate (five fingers up)
The first one said "Oh my it's getting Late" (Hands on Cheeks)
The second one said "There's a chill in the air" (arms around self)
The third one said "But we don't care" (swing pointer finger)
The fourth one said "We're ready for some fun!" (hand in air)
The fifth one said "Let's run, run, run!" (running motion)
So woooo went the wind, and out went the lights,
And the five little pumpkins rolled out of sight.
